Revit schedules to Excel, online and without Revit
Export the schedules of a Revit .rvt to Excel or CSV online, or every element's parameters as one sheet per category. The model is read on our servers, so you don't need Revit.
Revit exports a schedule one at a time, as a text file, and only from Revit. This page takes the .rvt and gives you every schedule in one Excel workbook, as CSV files, or every element's parameters with one sheet per category.
When to reach for it: When someone needs a model's schedules or parameters in a spreadsheet and doesn't have Revit. Projects saved in Revit 2021 to 2027, up to 200 MB on a paid plan.
What you get: An .xlsx with one worksheet per schedule, a zip of CSV files, or an .xlsx with one worksheet of element parameters per category.
Example: Hand a quantity surveyor the door and room schedules of a model without opening Revit.
What you get
Schedules keep the columns, the grouped headers and the rows saved in the model, one worksheet per schedule. The parameters workbook lists each element with its ID, name, family, type, level and GlobalId, then its instance and type parameters, grouped as Revit groups them.
When you'd reach for it
Schedules are where a Revit model keeps its counts: doors, windows, rooms, finishes, equipment and quantities. The people who need them, a quantity surveyor, a client, a facilities team or a contractor's buyer, often don't have Revit. Rather than asking the model author to export each schedule by hand, drop the file here and send them the workbook.
The parameters workbook covers what schedules don't. It lists every element of every category, scheduled or not, so you can filter, pivot and check the data in Excel: find doors without a fire rating, rooms without a number, or types that should have been merged.
How it works
The file is read on BIMCamel's servers, which take the schedules and the element parameters straight from the .rvt. The workbook is then written in your browser: one worksheet per schedule, named after the schedule, with its header rows above the data. The CSV option gives the same tables as one file each, in a zip.
In the parameters workbook each category gets its own worksheet. The first columns are the element ID, name, family, type, level and GlobalId; the rest are its instance parameters, then its type parameters. When two parameters share a name, the column says which group, or that it is a type parameter.
Honest limits
Schedules come out with the columns, headers and rows saved in the model. Calculated values and totals are exported as saved; they aren't recalculated, and formatting such as colours and borders isn't carried across. Values in the parameters workbook are the raw values stored in the model.
Schedules from any Revit release
The page reads projects saved in any Revit release from 2021 to 2027, so you don't need the release the model was made in. A workbook from a 2021 model and one from a 2026 model have the same layout, which keeps comparisons in Excel simple. Families and templates have no schedules of their own, so drop the project file.
How to export Revit schedules to Excel online
- Drop your .rvt on the box at the top of the page, or click it to choose the file
- Wait while it is read online. Nothing is installed, and Revit is not needed
- Download the schedules as one Excel workbook or as CSV files, or every element's parameters by category
Under the hood
BIMCamel parses IFC files in the browser using the open-source web-ifc engine and renders models with @thatopen/components + three.js. Heavy operations (clean / optimise / validate / convert) run on disposable server-side workers using the same web-ifc stack plus our own .NET pipeline; results stream back to your browser as soon as they're ready. Uploads sit on our servers only as long as your tier's retention window allows and are never used to train AI.
Frequently asked questions
Does it export key schedules, material takeoffs and sheet lists?
It exports every schedule saved in the model as a table, whatever kind of schedule it is. Open the workbook to check the ones you need; each worksheet is named after its schedule, so they are easy to find.
Is my model uploaded?
Yes, the .rvt is uploaded so the server can read it. The workbook itself is written in your browser. The upload is kept only for your plan's retention window, then removed.
Can I edit the parameters in Excel and send them back to Revit?
Not into the .rvt. To push edited values back into a model, convert it to IFC and use Excel to IFC, which writes property values from a spreadsheet into the IFC.
Do I need Revit to export the schedules?
No. The .rvt is read online, so you don't need Revit installed or a licence for it.
Which Revit versions does it read?
Projects saved in Revit 2021 to 2027.
Can I get the parameters of elements that aren't in a schedule?
Yes. Choose the parameters workbook: it has a sheet per category with every element of that category and its parameters, scheduled or not.
Is it free?
Yes, within your plan's Revit file size and daily runs: 25 MB without an account, 100 MB with a free one and 200 MB on a paid plan. Reading the model counts as one Revit to IFC run.
