Revit sheets to PDF, online and without Revit

Turn the sheets of a Revit .rvt into PDF online: every sheet as one multi-page PDF, or each sheet as its own PDF, PNG or SVG in a zip. The model is read on our servers, so you don't need Revit.

Revit prints sheets to PDF, but only when you have Revit. When a model arrives and you need its drawings now, on a Mac or a laptop without a licence, this page does it in the browser: drop the .rvt and download the sheets.

When to reach for it: When you need the drawings of a Revit model and don't have Revit at hand. Projects saved in Revit 2021 to 2027, up to 200 MB on a paid plan.

What you get: One PDF with every sheet, or a zip with one PDF, PNG or SVG per sheet, named after the sheet number and name.

Example: Send a client the drawing set of a model when you don't have Revit at hand.

How it works

The file is converted on BIMCamel's servers, which read the sheets and the views placed on them straight from the .rvt. Any view the conversion left undrawn is drawn before the export, then every sheet is laid out at its sheet size and written as a PDF in your browser.

You choose one PDF with every sheet, or a zip with a PDF, PNG or SVG per sheet, named after the sheet number and name.

When you'd reach for it

A client asks for the current drawing set and the person with Revit is out. A contractor has the model but not the licence. You are on a Mac, a tablet or a locked-down office PC and need to check a sheet before a meeting. In each case the drawings are already inside the .rvt; what's missing is a way to print them without Revit, and that is all this page does.

It is also a quick way to see what a model actually contains before you plan work on it: the list of sheets appears as soon as the file is read, with each sheet's number and name, so you can tell at a glance whether the set is complete.

What comes out

Each sheet is laid out at its own paper size with its title block and every view placed on it: plans, sections, elevations, details, legends and schedules, with the annotation Revit saved for them. The single PDF keeps the sheets in sheet-number order, one page each. The zip gives you a separate file per sheet, which suits document control systems that want one drawing per file.

PNG is a raster image, handy for a quick message or a slide. SVG is a vector drawing you can open in a browser or an illustration program and scale without losing detail.

Honest limits

The sheets are drawn online from the views placed on them, not printed by Revit, so line weights, fills and fonts can differ from a Revit print, and a view type the drawing engine doesn't know yet can come out empty. Views the conversion left undrawn are drawn on request before the export, which adds time on a large model. Check the PDF against Revit before you issue a drawing set for construction.

Sheets from older and newer Revit releases

The page reads projects saved in any Revit release from 2021 to 2027, so the version of Revit you have, or don't have, makes no difference. If you only want to know which release saved a file, the Revit version checker tells you without uploading it.

How to export Revit sheets to PDF online

  1. Drop your .rvt on the box at the top of the page, or click it to choose the file
  2. Wait while it is read online. Nothing is installed, and Revit is not needed
  3. Pick one PDF with every sheet, or a zip with a PDF, PNG or SVG per sheet
  4. Click Download sheets

Under the hood

BIMCamel parses IFC files in the browser using the open-source web-ifc engine and renders models with @thatopen/components + three.js. Heavy operations (clean / optimise / validate / convert) run on disposable server-side workers using the same web-ifc stack plus our own .NET pipeline; results stream back to your browser as soon as they're ready. Uploads sit on our servers only as long as your tier's retention window allows and are never used to train AI.

Frequently asked questions

Is my model uploaded?

Yes, the .rvt is uploaded so the server can read it. The PDF itself is written in your browser. The upload is kept only for your plan's retention window, then removed.

Can I pick which sheets to export?

The export covers every sheet in the model. Choose a zip with one file per sheet and keep the ones you need.

Do I need Revit to export the sheets?

No. The .rvt is read online, so you don't need Revit installed or a licence for it.

Which Revit versions does it read?

Projects saved in Revit 2021 to 2027.

Does the PDF match a Revit print?

Closely, but it isn't printed by Revit: the sheets are drawn from the model's own view data, so line weights, fills and fonts can differ. Check it before you issue it.

Is it free?

Yes, within your plan's Revit file size and daily runs: 25 MB without an account, 100 MB with a free one and 200 MB on a paid plan. Reading the model counts as one Revit to IFC run.
