Licence

CamelGraph comes in two copies. Both are the same program with the same features. The difference is the licence and where you get it.

  • Personal use: free. Download the installer from the GitHub releases page or from the CamelGraph page on bimcamel.com. It is source-available under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0. The installer, the About window and the start screen of these copies are marked Personal use.
  • Professional use: a copy for the Autodesk App Store is coming soon. It is for work at a company, a consultancy or a design office, or in a paid project or product. The App Store copy will come with the commercial licence from BIMCamel and will be updated by the store. The store listing will show the price and terms. Until it is there, get in touch through bimcamel.com.

Which copy do I need?

What "personal use" means in practice:

Charities, schools and universities, public research bodies and government institutions are covered by the free copy as well. If you are not sure whether your use is professional, assume it is.

You may read the source, change it and share it on the noncommercial terms. Because of the commercial-use restriction, the free copy is "source-available" rather than OSI-certified open source.

The professional copy

The professional copy for the Autodesk App Store is coming soon. When it is there, the store listing will show the price and terms.

The App Store copy will not make the once-a-day update check, because the store delivers its updates (Updating).

Until it is there, and for other arrangements, for example for a company that needs a different agreement, get in touch through bimcamel.com.

Licensing changed over time, and each grant applies to the copies obtained while it was in effect:

Copies you already have stay under the licence they came with. The texts are in the repository under docs/licenses.

Third-party components

CamelGraph uses libraries that keep their own permissive licences, such as Nodify, Newtonsoft.Json and AutomaticGraphLayout. They are listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md.

Trademarks

CamelGraph is not affiliated with or endorsed by Autodesk. Autodesk, Navisworks, Revit and Dynamo are trademarks of Autodesk, Inc. The Autodesk Navisworks API assemblies are referenced at compile time only and are never redistributed with CamelGraph; at run time the API is provided by your licensed Navisworks installation.
